    Who are these haters?!@#$.

If you don't like the show or the host don't watch it.

I think the idea of being able to make two different meals is a good idea for a show. No one is forcing you to do it immediately. Try reading the recipe first and make good sound decisions for yourself instead of bashing the program and host for your stupidity. Remember reading is fundamental.

BTW, I enjoyed the recipe. Instead of a few pieces of lettuce with bread, I placed the burger on top of a salad bed.

I have cooked these burgers inside on the cast iron grill and outside on the charcoal grill and they are juicy and delicious. The onion compote was a tasty additon! I enjoyed watching the "rerun" today.

    Thank you Sandra!

I have become a huge fan of Sandra's new show as a newlywed who wants to impress her husband while keeping the grocery bill low! We have tried out several of her recipies and were impressed with almost all of them! They are easy to make and delicious. These burgers are one of our new favorites. We made the burgers and the meatloaf a couple of weeks ago and my husband has already asked me to make them again. They are tender and juicy and the compote is an amazing complement! Keep it up Sandra, can't wait for the new season!!

We used jalapeno jack cheese for the center of the burgers, and cooked them on the "George Forman" grill and it was sooooo good. Will defiantly make this again!

I made these for the family on 4th of July! They were perfect! Yummy, innexpensive, and easy to make.

The compote was Fabulous! and I don't like onions!

Those who reviewed poorly, didn't even make the recipe and I agree keep you opinions to yourself. Everything I have tried of Sandras has been easy and tasty!

    Will def make again!

We served these on Sunday after the 4th of July as I still had 8 visitors remaining from the 4th. Wow...everyone loved the onion compote recipe and it made the burgers. I am looking forward to tonight when I make the meat loaf and use the little bit of compote that remained, I will make this recipe often. I am concerned with the reviews of people who have never had to cook for big families, and have never lived on a budget. KEEP YOUR OPINIONS TO YOURSELF....Thank you Sandra Lee for sharing your childhood struggles with us and helping us with these recipes...

First, the red onion compote was delicious!!! My husband who is a huge onion lover really enjoyed it too. I thought the burgers were fantastic too. I chose to use ground turkey, so the cheese was great in adding some moisture.

Second, I read the reviews to see how well the recipes worked out. I really could care less what the original intention of a compote was. However, I can tell you that her intention was not to have you serve ice cream, Sandra. If you haven't made the recipe, don't review it because it throws off the ratings for other people who are capable of understanding the meaning and are able to do math.

We made these burgers for our 4th of July dinner and they were great! I really didn't measure my ingredients, I just threw it together. The sweetness of the onions and the juiciness of the burgers were a delightful surprise! We will surely make these again!

The recipe is very good. As for the comment that you cannot trust the Food Network because the hosts do not have the understanding of basic cooking terms--there are a ton of chefs working in elite restaurants who serve vegetable compotes. Chef Joho of the Eifell Tower Restaurant, Chef Jean Pierre Vandelle of El Olivo, Spain, just to name two. So, maybe the original concept of "compote" was with fruits, but people think outside of the box, and come up with wonderful taste creations by not sticking with "basic cooking techniques".

This recipe was easy, cheap, and tasted great. I can't wait to try the meatloaf. I was skeptical about the onions-the smell was very strong, but they really accented the burger well. Had a hard time keeping the cheese inside the burgers-but other than that it was a breeze.
