What is wrong with people? SEMI HOMEMADE, get a clue people. This is the working Moms and Dads friend. IF you have all day to cook and do not run your kids to a 100 different activities perhaps you have all day, I do not nor do I want to spend 2 hours every night throwing dinner on the table.
The food is good and easy to make, just clueless! Watch something else.

It's true; if you want fresh ingredients go to another show. If I had Sandra Lee when I was a newly wed, I wouldn't have almost poisoned my husband. It's a program for overworked moms and dads who don't have time to be "freshly homemade". Don't knock it until you try it. It's a great alternative to fast foods or take outs.

I'd like to see you try to come up with these shortcuts.

I'm not here to debate the quality of Sandra's recipes. I just wonder about the intelligence of those who expect to find Sandra using all fresh ingredients when the name of her show is SEMI-Homemade Cooking and EVERY episode begins with Sandra stating that she uses 70 percent store-bought (read: pre-made, packaged ingredients. It couldn't be any clearer! What is it that you don't understand?? If you are looking for a cooking show that uses "healthy, seasonal and local ingredients" and foods without nitrates and preservatives, maybe you should try to find an organic cooking show or something. Yeesh!!

I did not try this recipe, I prefer fresh ingredients when I cook. Just wanted to express my horror about Sandra's cooking. This recipe is a complete misunderstanding - dumping all preservative-chemicals loaded store bought mushy crap in the pot and mixing with ketchup and curry and serving this to my family?! No, thanks. When today's cooking is all about healthy, seasonal and local ingredients - she suggests us a nasty canned stuff? Sandra humiliates Chef's name, I think she actually hates cooking and reminds a spoiled wealthy housewife, who has all the money and no taste or passion for anything.
This recipe is a culinary crime. Not mentioning tacky "tablescapes".

This was disgusting. The flavors do not compliment each other at all. What a hack! I don;t understand Sandra Lee. If she had to audition for The Next Food Network Star she would never make it. I can't believe she has her own show, she does not cook , she just throws pre packaged nitrates and preservatives together and she speaks very strange. Her "table scapes" are absurd....could you imagine sittiing at one of her tables? you can't even see the person across the table. Until I saw this show I never realized chopping an onion or garlic was a "chore" and "semi home made" means getting your onions from a pre cut freezer bag and garlic from a jar.

Prepared for this past Thanksgiving, and really didn't go over well. The flavor combinations were not complimentary.

With the applesauce, the spices and the squash I was expecting a much less bitter soup than what I ended up with.

The spices gave the soup a really unpleasant and peculiar taste. It was better straight from the box, which is how I will serve it from now on.
