I saw the show with this recipe, and I just had to try it. My mom used to make bread pudding, but I never made it before. This was great with the addition of the apple pie filling!

The recipe, although easy, didn't have enough flavor. Needed more spices.
The sauce recipe calls for just one package of Dream Whip which is not enough. I had to add both packages from the box in order to thicken the sauce. Also, took longer than 40 min. and I have an oven thermometer which is accurate and was at 350. I thought all of these recipes were checked first in the Food Network Kitchen.

This was an easy bread pudding that was neither too sweet nor too heavy. The sauce was definately different, though I wouldn't say that it was better than a good scoop of vanilla ice cream would have been with it.

I made this with a few modifications to make it kind of healthy :. For example, I used whole wheat cinnamon-raisin bread, lower sugar apple cinnamon oatmeal packets , fat-free half and half, and splenda brown sugar. You won't miss a single calorie, because it was very very good!

The ginger ale/dream whip sauce was a disappointment. I refrigerated the ginger ale and my beaters, but I could never get it to thicken :(. Oh well, the recipe was great even without the sauce!

I grew up on bread pudding...this was a nice surprise. I modified the recipe a bit...added half n half instead of milk. My family really enjoyed it and so did I. Easy and good...

My mother stopped using Dream Whip in 1967 after my brother was born with 6 fingers on his left hand and my sister with a small vestigal tail. It's nasty, scary artificial stuff.

The bread pudding itself was great. But I had trouble getting the sauce to peak - or do anything for that matter. But I couldn't find "Dream Whip" so I just used cool whip - and that was great!
