My mom used to make a recipe very close to this but with apples instead of the sweet potatoes and pears. This was just as good!!!

I only made the Sweet Potatoes & Pears portion of this recipe, so my review is based only on that portion of the recipe.

Based on the ingredients shown, I expected the potatoes and pears to be moist and tasty. However, they were dry and bland. Also, using canned potatoes but fresh pears was a weird texture combo.

Next time, I'll use both canned potatoes and pears -or- both fresh potatoes and pears, so the texture of both are similar.

I'll also dot some butter and cinammon all over the potatoes and pears and cover with foil to cook (without the topping, to help provide moisture. Once the potatoes and pears are fork-tender, I'll add the topping and cook uncovered til it's browned.
