were here in hawaii and things are a little bit more per item. hopefully sandra could maybe for us miltary wives stationed in hawaii could give us even more ideas. but the recipe was a hit with even my picky eater

We are making this for the second time tonight. Two people can easily get two-three meals out of this with hot dogs. I would leave out the sugar if you are using a sweet bbq sauce.

Made my own BBQ sauce, so it would be spicier. Omitted the x-tra brown sugar. Added hot sauce and chipotle chili powder to the beans. Very yummy. Perfect for a foot ball night!

I made this for a family bbq...it was a huge hit.At one point I saw my nephew and his wife eating it like it was chili that was to be served alone!Will definately make this at all of our family bbq's.

I made my own BBQ sauce and used only one can of black beans. The results were Great! Much better than the chili dog sauce you get out of a can. I suggest using your favorite sauce (omit brown sugar if a sweeter sauce or try making your own from scratch.

I made this recipe with turkey hot dogs. They were delicious. I used a kansas city bbq sauce, which I knew would be way too sweet. I doubled the mustard, added sauteed onions to the sauce, and when I needed to thin the sauce a bit, I added balsamic vinegar. It cut through the sweetness and I added some cayenne pepper to give it a kick. We didn't have any hot dog buns so I just served it on a plate with the chili, onions, cheese. Served it with sliced orange and yellow tomatoes and fresh watermelon and cherries. It was a slightly lighter way to enjoy an American classic.

The beans were terrible. You'd be much better off just using a can of Bush's BBQ Beans (which are great, by the way.
Also, she shouldn't call them "chili dogs."

I used Kraft original barbecue sauce, and it came out too sweet. I would go half on the sauce and double on the mustard. The quesadillas came out great the next day, though.
