Very good. I used Canadian Bacon instead of bacon and sauteed it a little bit in small amt olive oil. Thought this healthier...I also used one can diced tomatos instead of fresh ones. (didn't have any And used white kidney beans instead of red. Turned out fabulous. (added a tbsp of ketchup too, almost forgot that...gave it just a hint of sweet
Thanks

I just made this tonight after watching the show this week. My husband loved it! I added some celery left over in my refrigerator but other than that followed the recipe. We enjoyed it as a main course and will definately make a recipe card for my recipe binder. Next time I will play around with the ingredients and add a few more veggies or sausage.....Yum, Yum!

We liked this recipe, but with two major changes. First, used 4 ounces of apple wood smoked bacon, much less fat and lots of flavor. Second, used no pasta at all -- just treated as a bean side dish. Next time, will make with black beans, think that will be perfect.

Sadly, this was not as tasty as I thought it would be. It was so bland that I had to doctor it up in order to eat it. (Sorry... just hate writing bad reviews.
I added deli style brown mustard w/ horseradish to taste. It saved the dish however I won't make it again.

I made this for dinner last night with a few minor changes to make it a meal instead of a side dish. I chose to add a bit of diced kielbasa to the pan as the onions were cooking.
Instead of macaroni, I added the last of the rice we had the night before. My husband and I have a gluten intolerance, so regular pasta is a No No for us.
We really enjoyed it... I'll be adding a bit of diced jalapeno to the onions next time for a bit of heat, as it had a nice jambalaya feel to it!
Another one to add to the rotation!

I really thought the recipe needed something more, I thought it lacked flavor. I am going to revamp it into a chile mac recipe.

Nice & Easy Recipe. My husband doesn't eat onions, so substituted Jalapenos in place of the onions. Worked out really well. I also added diced chicken to it to make it more of a "meal" rather than a side dish. Worked out GREAT!!! Saving this Recipe!! Thanks Sandra Lee
