My girlfriends and I agree that skipping the sugar and using some white wine and herbs makes a much better (and lower calorie salmon. It had better flavor and was jucier and flakier than with the beer/sugar.

We don't like our salmon to be so sweet. We're going to try the TROPICAL SALMON next because it had better reviews.

It wasn't what we'd call 'good' either. We didn't like the flavor the beer imparted.

This recipe was so simple and the salmon stayed deliciously moist and flavorful.

Like the others, we did not care for the taste of the beer and the sugar. But I will try it with white wine and fresh herbs as that other person suggested.

The salmon in beer was just okay. My husband liked it more than me but my mother didn't like it at all. The sugar was a bit much.

I read some of the negative reviews and am convinced they must have done it completely wrong. This is, without a doubt, the best salmon I have ever tasted. I served this to friends and family the first time I cooked it and they all thought I was a magician. Kudos to you.

I simply stated we tried this but prefer our old method of poaching salmon in white wine with fresh herbs. Also in my home we don't cook food in disposable foil pouches because it is environmentally unsound. What on earth is so offensive about that? It's an honest review, which is more than we can say about 90% of the reviews here.
