so good! i cooked my tuna all the way because I do not care for it to be rosy in the middle, and it was delicious.

I had to print this recipe twice because my first one wore out! Okay, so I cooked my own potatoes, beans and eggs. Big deal. This recipe is so deelish, that my husband and I feel like we are in a fine restaurant in NYC enjoying a special of the day!

I can't seriously rate this, because I've not tried it...However, when I see a recipe, I always read the reviews to see what people say...It seems to me the French people are being a little too harsh..The name of the show is Semi-Homeade...meaning she's trying to give the average home cook a way to give their famaly something different, not perfect to the original recipe......but something new to their palate....I cook for people everyday, and for financial reasons, you can't always be true.

I made this dish for valentine's day and it turned out even better than I imagined, there were 4 of us including myself and everyone loved it. one friend was even thinking of licking his plate. I'm glad I made extra, because it was even better the next day for lunch. for the one with the tapenade, next time add extra chopped olives that might help. the other three ladies, your comments were just bitter.

How embarrasing to use canned potatoes and declare it representative of the foods served in the South of France. Shame on you. And eggs purchased already hard-boiled and peeled? You also would not be served a bottled dressing or a pre-packaged tampenade in France. I would NEVER serve canned potatoes to anyone, not even my dog. Talk about lazy. Potatoes are so easy to cook.

WOW! why such nastiness.... if you don't like her show don't watch it. Oh! I know you are french that's why the meaness and nastiness: iI get it: You are french so of course you know it all you are the best because everyone know the french know it all they are the best......Like Christiane enjoy saying in ALL CAPS : YOU TOO ARE INFECT!
And Nicole was it necessary to be personnaly hurtfull and ugly? Did it made you feel better?
I I am french too, and this is so typical of mentality of my country: nasty attitude, snobism and passing judjement that's why I left.
Only Sarah had a valid review. She tried it and did not like it.
So Christiane and Nicole your writing made me ashamed of being from France.

Salade nicoise is an INSTITUTION IN ITSELF, Sarah !!!!! And there is nothing French about this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    NOT EVEN THE INGREDIENTS!!!!

If and when Biblos hears about that I am sure and certain that he will be APPALLED!!! I totally agree with Nicole, CANNED POTATOES????? THAWED GREEN BEANS????? Come one, be serious!!!!

I totally agree that this is a Semi Homemade but she could at least boil some potatoes.

And that's what makes all the difference with FRENCH COOKING....Fresh ingredients!!! Always!! Nothing fancy about that.

The original version of the salad always included raw red peppers, shallots, and artichoke hearts, never potatoes. Rumors suggest the famous choreographer Balanchine may have influenced the creation of this dish during his tenure in Monte Carlo.

But let?s say for the sake of modern reasons, she had to substitute but still how does someone eat a SALAD without a VINAIGRETTE??? And particularly this one??!

A little note here, Sarah. Do you know that for a French native, a salad NEEDS to be tossed 42 TIMES to be a salad??!!

    Where is the Olive oil???
    Where is the cucumber??
    Where are the anchovies???
    Where is the mustard???
Where is the onion??? White or red, doesn?t matter but red is the one used
    And most of all?
    Where are the OLIVES???

There is more to French Cuisine than just a beautiful decor in the kitchen, Sandra, it is all about REAL INGREDIENTS!!! REAL PREPARATION !!! REAL COOKING!!!

I HAD to try this one and even if I knew deep inside it was going to be ?Infect??well, it was INFECT !!!

Neither were the tomatoes or the trifle?.ready made pudding?? What a joke and an insult !!! In French Cuisine??!!!

Oh Sandra, Why do you have a show? Are we serious? Canned potatoes, thawed green beans. It is no wonder you are a horrible person. You're full of chemicals like your food.

It may have just been the olive tapenade that I used, but the tuna tasted so bad no one could eat it.
