As an ametaur homecook who cooks as a hobby and a vegetarian, I often find myself frustrated w/ the foodnetwork for not showing more meat-free episodes. I was beside myself with this episode-altogether, 4 or 5 recipes that were meat free! Yay! Made the burgers tonight and they were good. A nice change of normal vegetarian recipes. The burgers were very flimsy and tasted a lot like simple refried beans, but were nonetheless yummy. My husband said he would eat them again in a heart beat and I would definately make them again.

We are meat eaters in my family, and I have never made anything like this before, but saw these on tv and decided to try them. They were very surprisingly good. We treated them just like hamburgers, buns, ketchup, mustard, onions, lettuce and tomato. They were very easy to make and stayed together very well on the grill. The cilantro stood out in the taste and was delicious. I will definitely make these again.

These were so yummy and so easy to make! The consistancy was a little hard to work with, but just need to cook them a bit longer. My Fiance loved them and I can't wait to try the Black Bean Enchiladas next :

This is a great cheap eat! I added 1 teaspoon of cumin and 1/2 of a chopped
    jalapeno.

These burgers taste like something from a Mexican restaurant. They were super easy and really cheap to make. All I needed to buy was black beans and cilantro. By mistake I put 2 tbs. of parsely. I think the only thing it did was off set the cilantro taste which I sometimes find to be too strong. Cannot wait for the next episode on Sunday!

These were so good! I had everything already in my pantry and whipped them up for a last minute Memorial Day cookout. I altered the recipe a bit by adding sharp melted cheddar, garnishing with salso and served on high fiber, wheat english muffins. The great thing about these burgers is the endless way you can mix up the ingredients. I highly reccomend trying them!

Not only was this budget friendly, but extremely fast and easy to make; I bought a small blender/food processor and just had to try this recipe out. Its amazing how a food processor can change the way you cook! The taste and texture will require adjustment on my (and my family's part -- it was different; my palate is accustomed to flesh; this was a nice change. Very filling! Thank you so much for a wonderful, cost effective and easy to make item! Love your show!

These were very good. Very cheap and filling!
I am definitely adding this to my repertoire of recipes. I am going to find a flavored mayonnaise topping for some additional flavor.

I've recently lost almost 200lbs and I am always on the lookout for good tasting and healthy recipes...these burgers were delish! It was basically a pantry meal for me...everything was already on hand. Instead of the bread crumbs I used oat bran for an extra bit of fiber and boy were these great! I did them on the outdoor grill on a perforated piece of foil. I think the next time I might use half oat bran and half flax meal to get him some omega-3's. I bet this would be adaptable using other beans like kidney, Aduki or black soy beans...the possibilities are endless!! Since I'm the only one in my house that would dream of eating a burger that doesn't contain beef, I froze the others for later on. Thanks Sandra...well done!

Oh my gosh, these were good. We added mayo and mustard to the buns, otherwise they were a little dry, even though the burgers were moist. Only wish these could hold up on the outdoor grill. I made more than the recipe says, so mine were a little thinner, but still yummy. We are vegetarian and always looking for new ways to make burgers. Thanks Sandra.
