If you include all the ingredients, the results are great. Fines Spice is a combination of four standard spices of equal amounts. You can find it on the internet. I am making it again next wekk. Yum!

The steaks and topping were great and easy, easy, easy. I skipped the sauce because I did not want to spend the time and wanted to get straight to the eating steak. I made 2 filets -- ate one at home (my wife hates steak and took the other to work for lunch. Yeah, the microwave cooked it beyond medium rare, but I was eating great Filet Mignon and the guy in the next cube was eating caf food!

Delicious way to change up your typical steak recipe. Great for the winter when you may not want to grill. I am not a fan of bleu cheese, and neither are the people I made this for, but we all loved it. The sauce didn't thicken for me like it did when I watched the episode, but the flavor was still great.

Seemed like it would be delicious, but was just ok. The first dish my husband told me not to make again..

These burgers were on the fatty side and the blue cheese did burn a bit. They were just OK. Not good enough to recommend.

I had a box of frozen steaks that weren't high quality. I thawed a double batch of the steaks and made the topping. I don't understand the "fines" spice it called for but I heard Sandra say parsley, so I made up my own combination. I couldn't find cognac in my grocery store (nor the spice so i skipped the sauce.
The most useful part was the advice about how hot the oven (400and the different times for each 4 med rare, 6 for medium and 8 for well done to BAKE the steaks.

I watch food TV daily at different times and this is the first receipe in a long time that actually had me scrambling for pen and paper. My husband only eats 7 foods and although I love a lot of what I see I would most likely be eating whatever i make all by my self. I knew he would eat this! (I was wrong he scraped off the topping but he loved the juicyness of the steak!

This recipe was melt in your mouth good. I did not have any trouble with cheese running, it stayed on top of the steak and made for a delicious topping. I was excellent, I will use it on other steaks and prehaps as a base for a onion soup! I have major trouble when it comes to cooking a steak, but my family loved this steak!

I also think the recipe is wrong, as mine did not come out anything like the poster below described. My crumbs burned and ruined the steak.

The topping was all wrong. The crumbs burned and the cheese ran all over the place. I think the directions might be wrong.
