I agree with Jeannine. Just made it. Ver;y refreshing. Used triple sec instead of the blue stuff

Use a high grade blueberry vodka, vermouth instead of other vodka, a splash of curacao and stir or shake and pour over ice or stright up with fresh blue berries if wanted. Makes it more adult.

I tried this last week with guests here, but, the results were disappointing. The color is beautiful but that's where it stops. I didnt have vanilla vodka so I subbed simple syrup like a previous poster. It still had a strong, sweet and almost medicinal taste. Can relate it to cough syrup disguised to be pallatable to children. It really needs something to cut sweetness and lighten the taste. Now, what do I do with blueberry vodka I bought for this??

I don't see how a martini can be reviewed as being too strong - any decent martini is high proof liquor with a splash of something else at most.

That said, I did not like this at all. Vanilla completely overpowered it. After several exeriments with the ingredients, I found even the smallest splash of vanilla was too much. So I replaced it with a splash of simple syrup. The best I have gotten to so far... blueberry vodka with a touch of simple syrup and just enough of the blue stuff to give it color... makes a decent drink but still not quite what I am looking for to complement blueberry season.

I made a pitcher of Blu-tinis for a garden party and everyone was blown away! The designer vodkas were sooo smooth and the fresh berries absolutely over-the-top!

When reading the recipe it does seem like a lot of alcohol but with the flavors you feel like it would come together well. I made this and took it to a party and nobody could drink it without gringing. Way to much alcohol.
