These cupcakes are delicious! I changed a couple different ingredients - I used french vanilla cake mix, added a box of vanilla pudding mix to the batter when mixing...for the filling i used french vanilla instant pudding and didn't add the extra vanilla extract! everything was awesome! I will make these again!!!

I make these all the time and receive the best compliments. I don't use the vanilla extract because I don't like the flavor of the pudding when that is added. I also make my own vanilla cupcakes. I have also used this receipe to make a "full" boston creme cake, which was super yummy. The only recommendation if you do that is to double the pudding and cut the cake into layers with pudding in between the layers. Super yummy and easy!!

I think this recipe is good if you use good ingredients, and follow the directions.
I had an issue with a batch of yellow cupcakes falling. . Ok, I admit it. I didn't want to run to the store and buy all the ingredients for another batch. Staying up till midnight hoping this time they would be happy and inflated didn't sound like a good plan either.. The cupcakes tasted good if a little dense. Some part of me hates wasting yummy cupcakes. Even if they are a little flat. Trying this recipe sounded like a good idea. I was a little confused by the amount of milk called for in the recipe and the amount the box of pudding called for. I followed the recipe. The pudding was thicker than normal and more custard like. It was also thick enough to inflate the cupcakes. The chocolate icing evened up the craggy bits. So to the naked eye they looked like lovely little cakes. And the taste? What can be bad about custard filled, chocolate covered cupcakes?

I'm not sure how this works

Fill cupcakes with vanilla pudding filling by inserting tip into top of cupcake and squeezing a couple of tablespoons of filling into each cupcake.

You dont spoon out some cupcake to make room? You just jab the tip down through the top into the cupcake and hope for the best? Usually bostom creme pie is cut in half and layered

I made these cupcakes for my son's 3rd birthday party at his daycare center and the kids fell in love with chocolate and the creme filling in the middle. Not only were the cupcakes good to eat, but my son and I had a fun time making them. I suggest you give this recipe a try.
