I used a 28oz. can of Bush's baked beans and followed the same measurements given in the recipe, cutting down on the bourbon by just a bit. I didn't find the beans overly sweet as other reviewers claimed but there was clearly a bourbon flavor, possibly overwhelming for those who are not fans of bourbon. Everyone at the table gobbled them up including the one person who said they had never liked beans until this dish (although of course he likes his bourbon too!! Outstanding and will make again!

If I could give it zero stars, I would. I have nothing positive to say about this dish. Too sweet, to much alcohol. Yuck!

The bourbon was way too much. I'd only use a tablespoon if I were to make them again. But I won't because they were also much too sweet. My own "embellished" canned beans are much better.

While my Fourth of July guests loved the beans, I found the bourbon to be a bitoverwheming for my taste. Perhaps it would be better in half the quantity. Everyone else, though, raved about them.

Great with steak. I made this for my family BBQ and everyone could not get enough ! a must !! Can substitute molasses for honey if needed . I have tried both and still yummy.

Way to sweet and harsh from the alcohol that doesn't burn off. GACK.

Much too sweet. And so inappropriate for kids with all the booze in it. Unless the birthday party was out of control and youneeded them to take a nap.

I didn't add the precooked bacon - I cooked my own. It was great. The first dish gone at the last family gathering!
