    I am a new viewer to the show. This was the first recipe I made of yours. My family loved it! I added fresh avocado & bell pepper to my husbands tacos. I have to say that your salsa was simple & easy and it really was so perfect to top the meat. Thank you for the recipe & the money saving tips. Much appreciated.

    after reading the reviews, I think a nice piece of lean chuck roast would have worked much better. Try it the next time. I had a piece of check roast tonight (didn't us this recipe, just made post roast in the slow cooker and it cam out wonderful. I am going to make this using a chuck roast and will let you know how it turned out.

    I love Sandra Lee and have made several of her recipes. This particular one did not turn out well. I used London Broil and cooked it for 7 hours. It was dry and very hard to chew. I agree with others that it is not "money saving" since I used more expensive meat than was suggested and it is disgusting.

    Tasty? What did you think?We liked the ideas of both recipes on this episode, but didn't want a meatless soup, nor did we want tacos. So instead, we used 2 crocks, cooked the braised beef in one, and this soup in the other. We also used london broil, cooked on high for 5 hrs, it was perfect. For the soup, We omitted the chipotle, & used red & orange peppers instead of green. When they were both finished cooking, we simply drained the chicken stock off the veggies and added them to the beef crock, and wah-la! We had a wonderful pepper soup with yummy, tender chunks of beef! The leftovers were even better. We also did not make the tortilla strips this time, we just used store bought chips, then simply added sour cream & shredded mont jack cheese. It was a great meal. Although, no doubt would this combination also make great fajitas as well! That's on the menu for next week! ;

    i used london broil, actually followed directions but used 1/2 tomatoes b/c I don't love tomato based stuff usually. also 1/3 the chili powder for some delicate palates. Very good with salsa as a topping, along with sour cream of course.

    I am a Sandra Lee fan, but I did not like this recipe. I followed the recipe exactly, and cooked the meat for 6 hours on low, but it came out very dry and tasteless. I had intended to use the leftovers for the steak sandwichs, but I ended up throwing the leftover meat out. Very disappointed, and her recipes are typically very good.

    Use a regular tritip instead. Definately cook it overnight and all day and after shredding the meat, take some of the organic matter from the crock pot with some juice and cut it up well with some scissors and add it to the meat... this adds alot of flavor and moister. Add a charred j-pep to the salsa and some shredded cabbage on the taco ad mmm-mmmm. :

    I substituted the chili powder with two packages of sazon seasoning packets and I used london broil.

    My family loved the flavor and texture of the steak. It shredded up really easy for me. I made a side dish of saffron rice (sold really expensive in the grocery store and everyone used the juice from the crockpot over the rice.

    This was great!
