only rate this fair. I followed the recipe, but the canned potatoes seemed
stringy. The topping was crunchy, but hard to dish out.

We absolutely hated this recipe. The first foodnetwork recipe that was almost not edible. The potatoes were bland/sweet, the pecans too crunchy, and the marshmallow fluff - well, too gooey - and too much.

I was expecting this to be really heavy and sweet but mine came out very light and airy and not overly sweet. I'm going to use a different recipe next time.

I was afraid it would be too sweet with the marshmallow topping so I made it without it. I didn't add the pecans either. It was like having mashed potatoes but it was good. The only problem I had was when adding the sugar/butter mixture over the yams. The brown sugar began to harden immediately. I don't know why! It's a super easy recipe. My son asked me to make again for Thanksgiving.

The mashed yams tasted great, but next time I will substitute the jar of marshmallow topping (too sweet for may taste with a layer of mini marshmallows.

Even my kids thought it was way too sweet. The texture is more like mashed potatoes than a souffle. Won't make again
