Very easy to prepare and tasty. Instead of refrigerated pie crust that you had to cut out with a cookie cutter, I used Pillsbury Crescent Recipe Creations, Seamless Dough Sheet where the dough was already pre cut. I do recommend serving these hot out of the oven as they do not taste as good when they have had time to cool.

Very good, however next time I make this I will leave out the sugar...thought it was a bit sweet. Carmelized onions on their own are sweet enough

Note: To clarify, this recipe makes 12 tarts which will serve approximately 4 people with 3 tarts each.

I'm making these right now and they smell heavenly. I do feel like the recipe is written in a confusing way. Seeing that you need a "Special equipment: 1 (12-count nonstick mini muffin tin" but you should "cut out 12 circles from each crust" and another reviewer said that "I was able to make almost 12 tartlets" and it serves 4 people--- got me confused. Is this supposed to make 12 or 24 tartlets?

Definitely a keeper! It travels well too, if necessary. I substituted puff pastry and fresh onion. It was a hit at a friend's dinner party. I assembled everything in the mini muffin tins at my house and finished baking them when I arrived at the party.

I added a bit of red bell pepper to the onion mixture and made the tarts in phyllo shells. We loved them!

It is a keeper!!!!! Easy and tasty. I too chopped fresh onions instead of frozen. Awesome.
