I expected the soup not to be so good, since it is all from a can, and so easy and effortless - a child can do it. I was almost shocked on how delicious it really was. Great, quick and the easiest recipe ever. Just watch the sodium level on the cheddar cheese soup can, very high - so not as healthy!

Watery, boring and basic in flavor. No richness or creamy thickness to it. Seems cheap to serve.

I added 1.5 cups of fat free half and half and 1 cup of water and added three teaspoons of 'chicken better than bullion' iinstead of chicken stock because the soup usually calls for milk. It made the soup creamier! We also added 2% shredded med cheddar cheese on top as a garnish and we used crumbled turkey bacon for a little less fat. Still tasted wonderful! Fast easy and warming when it's 7 degrees outside :

This soup is delicious! I had my doubts it could be good tasting, given the ingredients and time it takes to put it together. I was wrong. It tastes like homemade. My husband loved it. I am passing it on to my daughters for them to make for their families. They both work fulltime and appreciated good and easy recipes. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

The spuds of the bottom of the casserole are the perfect topping.
