I was very pleased with outcome of this dish. The flavor and feel of the dish makes you think of Grandma. I was quite proud of myseld.

Canned soup and canned gravy made this taste about as far from "home made" as food can taste. It was very, very bad.

I didn't grow up eating Chicken and Dumplings and don't even think that there are restaurants that serve it. I wish there were since I would love to know how it's supposed to taste. I loved this recipe while viewing it on television and prepared it last night. It was fun to make, fast and tasted fabulous. I love the idea of using a whole baked chicken (I reserved a cup for salad, the chicken broth and canned gravy and refrigerated biscuits. I didn't use the oil or chopped onions. Actually, I just added two teaspoons of finely chopped onions and one grated clove of garlic. I just sprinkled the salt and pepper in. I used one cup of carrots and two cups of potatoes. I forgot to buy the celery and would've probably used a half-cup. I'm wondering if using Bisquick as the dumpling mix would've tasted better so I'll try that next time. Otherwise, I loved this recipe, it was fun to prepare and it tasted great.

The broth was VERY salty, the chopped vegetables didn't cook through nor did the dumplings. They were big and gummy. We hated this version.

Simply loved it! My family ate the entire pot. For those who like Chicken and Dumplings broth somewhat thicker, just cut down on the chicken broth.
