This is the WORST recipe for this. AWFUL. It should be "Semi-Edible".

I just love sandre lee's recipes and show. Im a stay at home mom and my kiddos oldest is 4 and yougest is 1. I made this tonight cuz me and my husband where both craving chicken and dumplings last time I made some I did it all from stratch. It cost out the butt for all the ingredients and it tasted like crap. So I found this one absolutely awesome. I may have only spent $10. My oldest who never eats anything I ever make ate all of his then asked for more. I diffently recommend this to even the experts out there.

I have never made chicken and dumplings before and the recipe was so easy and the chicken and dumplings came out great. i did however use a little whipping cream to give it a little more richness and i made the chicken myself instead of buying a roasted one. I would recommend this recipe to anyone who has or hasnt made chicken and dumplings before.

I like trying different recipes and enjoy taking on a challenge, but during the week with a full work schedule, I am thankful for Sandra Lee's recipes. And another thing I found out, I really enjoy cooking for others and the "wow" you get from a good meal, but there is enough people out there that just like basic nothing fancy meals and this one hits the spot for those people. Not too spicy or fancy. "Good ol' fashioned home cooking" is a resonse I've got from a couple different people who had this. For those who like to bash Sandra, that's too bad, rate the recipe, you don't have to be insultive. Anyone who's been cooking for awhile has had a few flops in their day, big deal.
Here's a twist you might want to consider with this recipe, once I went to pick up a roasted chicken and they were out of the regular chicken and only had roasted barbeque chicken. I used that and everyone really liked it. In fact now when I make it for my Mom, I always use the barbeque chicken.

Not everyone has time and/or money for 100% homemade meals all the time. If you don't like Sandra Lee or her food then just don't watch her show. I'm not saying I like everything I have tried either but you should still be respectful. Sandra Lee's show is no for the pretentious. Get over it.

I absolutely love Cracker Barrel's chicken & dumplings, but my husband doesn't like to go there and I did not want to attempt to make the dumplings from scratch. This was so easy and delicious. Both of my little girls are sick and I made it in no time. My husband loved it and thought this was one of the best dinners I ever made. I don't see how anyone couldn't like it. I only used 4 1/2 cans of chicken broth and added one more can of chicken gravy. I only used 1 tsp of poultry seasoning and added 1 tsp of old bay seasoning. I also added about 1/4 tsp of nutmeg. I love nutmeg in chicken pot pie or soup. This was so good, I can't wait to make it again!

I truly love this recipe. I had to change the amount of poultry seasoning to only 1/2 tsp instead of 2 tsp. because the taste was a little too over powering for me. Other than that, my whole family loves this recipe!
