This is such a delicious recipe! I didn't have buttermilk, so I just used milk and the meal came out fine. Even my kids loved it. The ranch dressing gives it that extra zing.

The steak, or the gravy. Put together they were terrible. This recipe is not a keeper.

Try her other recipe for fried chicken, it's much better. It's not all messed with ranch powder and that nasty gravy.

I used plain ranch dip instead of garlic ranch dip and added garlic powder...worked fine. Did fried chicken instead and added corn flake crumbs in second dredge...wow! After years of experimenting with fried chicken to make like my monther's, I've found THE one! Thanks Sandra, for the inspiration...fabulous!

Both the meat and the gravy had a very odd sour taste. Will not make again.

I tried this recipe for some diversity to our grandmother's delicious but tedious CFS recipe. The flavors of this recipe, and I suspect the ranch mix played a large part, just absolutely collided. Stay away from this one if you don't want to waste time and money (in my opinion as a 4th-generation Southern cook. Sorry grandmother, I won't do it again!
