This pie definitely needs to be chilled overnight -- it makes the difference between a very ordinary pie and an outstanding chocolate experience.

I made this for my husband's family at a family reunion. It sounded wonderful and the picture looked great. We were at the coast so I needed something with simple ingredients. I know how to bake but I forgot that chocolate seizes when it hits a cold mixture. It came out terrible. I made four pies and the one I cut into had a chocolately layer, a custard layer and a chocolate layer on top. It didn't even taste good. It tasted stiff and eggy. I think this could be a great recipe but the directions need to be written properly saying that all ingredients must be at room temperature. I was very embarrast and wish I had stuck with a tried and true recipe.

The filling was hard to combine and the finished pie tasted too eggy. We expected better.

This just didn't do right. I don't know if I did something wrong or their was a mistake in the recipe. The melted choc. chips just did not mix in right with the other combined ingredients. It was more like a marbled pie. The pie "batter" was watery with the choc chips gooped throughout. Very disappointing, however, it did taste a little bit better than it looked

This pie was very easy to make and it was really good. I used seven eggs like Sandra did on her show and 2 cups of chips. The secret is to add the chips when they are still very hot and melted from the microwave (like on the show. I messed the first one up because of the chips, but the second one was PERFECT!

I only used 5 eggs and much less vanilla. I also used lowfat buttermilk. I was also able to make 2 pies from the mix. It tasted great! The texture was perfect too!

Didn't like the consistency of the pie, even though flavor was quite chocolately.
