I thought this pie sounded so good- I thought I would make it and be a dessert hero on Easter at our family gathering. The recipe was terrible. It did not say anything about using only room temp ingredients- which I found out AFTER I poured my chocolate mixture in the egg mixture- and got big clumps of hard chocolate. I remedied the situation by melting the entire mixture over a double boiler again- but I was so unhappy with the final product I didnt want to admit it was me who brought it to the family get together!

This recipe is SO easy and good. I used 2 pie shells-it worked out just right. Add: (separately or together for options cinnamon, flax seed, Mexican vanilla extract, nuts, other chip flavors. Next I'll try healthier substitutions for less sugar/carbs/cholesterol.

This is a delicious variation of an old favorite my mother makes. I've made it on two occasions to take to social gatherings. Everyone raved about the taste and wanted the recipe.

It is so easy to make and has become My husbands second best pie. I have gotten great raves from all my neighbors that have tasted it. They always ask for the recipe after the first bite.
