Following other reviews, I used peanut butter instead of butter and then accidentally pressed an almond in the middle instead of a chocolate kiss- I was reading too many cookie recipes at the same time! The mistake was a surprising hit, adding additional crunchiness without too much sweetness as you might get if you followed the recipe and used a chocolate kiss. Also, was more popular than the recipes that I spent 3 times the amount of time! Will definitely use again.

I made this recipe with my daughter and her friend. After reading all the reviews we decided to substitute peanut butter for the butter. We also added a little extra almond extract. The cookies were a big hit in the neighborhood, and they were not at all greasy with the peanut butter.

I make these cookies every year and the recipe makes quite a few for giving and sharing. This year I used peanut butter instead of butter, roll them in graham crakers or chopped peanuts...yum. Also I tried the recipe with cream cheese flavored frosting, added vanilla and cream cheese instead of butter, the need to be refrigerated for 20 min before shaping and rolling, I put them in mini candy papers, my friends and family could not get enough of them(and the recipe makes alot

I changed this recipe a little to suit my taste, but used the basic idea. I replaced the almond extract with peppermint extract, rolled the cookies in confectioners' sugar, and topped with mint flavored chocolate kisses. They were great!

I should have known any cookie this easy wouldn't be good. My husband ate the chocolate kisses off the top of the cookies, and we threw the rest away. Greasy, fake chemical frosting taste is not my idea of yummy cookies. Don't waste your ingredients. I have been baking for 50 years and know what I am talking about! Some people like them but they also like "Little Debbie" creations.

These are gobs of canned frosting and butter. Flavor is nasty and texture is vile.
