Cilantro is a controversial flavor. Some people find it tastes like soap. This recipe could have included the suggestion to use parsley or perhaps rosemary instead for those who don't like cilantro. Additionally, as many commenters have already observed, those frozen potatoes are sub-standard in texture and not too great in flavor, either. Substituting fresh potatoes for people who prefer decent potatoes, and anything for cilantro for those who are predisposed to hate cilantro creates a completely different dish. Since I made this substituting as previously stated (not to mention using freshly made bacon bits, I can't in good conscience give this more than one star.

Very good. I used Simply Potaoes and only other changes I made was additional garlic, salt and pepper. The Cilantro gives it a good kick. Don't cook the potatoes too long or over stir as they will become mushy.
A quick and tasty potatoe dish.

I had to decide on how to rate this recipe...so technically I'm wrong for giving it 5 stars, because this recipe calls for bagged store bought patatoes, and no, I used real patatoes and cut them into tiny chunks. These were delicious. I would suggest not using the store brand bag like recipe calls for, but all else in the recipe is perfect!
I usually make patatoes for brunches, I made these today with omelettes and candy bacon, and now I will make these patatoes every time I make breakfast patatoes.

you shouldn't give a recipe 5 stars if you change it completely. Fresh potatoes and no cilantro. I've made that recipe before, but not this one with those awful frozen potatoes.

Cilantro just does not go with potatoes. Leave it for the salsa!

This was so yummy but I used fresh potatoes because I couldn't find the frozen ones. I hate cilantro so I left it out.

Make sure you taste cilantro before you use it. We all thought the potatoes were mixed with dish soap. EWWW!

I love me some shortcuts! But only if they work. The potatoes would have been sheer genius if they didn't break up into little pieces under the slightest heat. I think the ones she did on the show were still frozen, because they definitely break up very fast.
