Exelent recipe. All my friend and my husband who is clam chowder fan love it. I use condensed soup and lactose free lowfat milk which is sweet allrady, so I don't add any sugar. Since all can soups are salted I don't add any salt. Insted havy cream I use fat free half & half. Tuch of crusched red pepper maks it perfect.

Excellent! Used the recipe "as is" with the sole exception that I added a leftover baked potato, diced (most leftovers at our house find their way into soup the next day. Way better than any of the canned versions.

Easy and Yummy! I double it and instead of butter, I chop up three pieces of bacon. Cook through, then add the onions.

this is a great recipe. I suggest you use Bear Creek potato soup and two cans of clams. It makes a much bigger batch and it tastes homemade. It is so easy to make and it's so fast. Thanks Sandra Lee!

The final taste and texture depends on you/myself as a cook.

The recipe includes retail canned soups/broths/liquids, etc.

Make the recipe 3 times and use different brands available in the grocery store. Make the final decision.

I awarded 5 stars not for the final taste of the printed recipe (it did change pending what retail ingredients bought but for the recipe guidelines. Best wished for anyone who loves chowders.

Excellent recipee. But the store was out of cream of potato soup. And since my son specifically asked for no potatoes in the soup, decided to add one can of clam chowder. There were still a few potatoes, but more clams, and it still had the homemade taste. Followed the recipee excact with the exception of the soup swap. The only problem was there is not enough, I will positively double the recipee next time.

Easy way to make an impressive dish, only changes I made were to add celery salt and more potatoes.

We live in CT and have tasted a lot of New England Clam chowder. I couldn't believe how easy this recipe was so I gave it a shot. I added diced carrots and celery and it came out great on the first try. The only problem is that there were no leftovers! Now when I make it, I double or triple the recipe because it's just so yummy, my husband and I are fighting for the last spoonful. This recipe is like a dream come true. It's quick, easy and fabulous!

Good recipe! My husband is gluten free so i had to substitute the cream of potato soup for homemade. I cooked rice flour and butter, then added diced potatoes. Then added that to the soup. Of course we had to use regular bowls, but that didn't make any difference.
