I LOVE this...! This is such a classic episode! I hope they show it again this year. This show should be required viewing every holiday season: Its A Wonderful Life, A Christmas Carol, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Sandra Lee's Holiday Cakes episode! Priceless!

if you don't like regular icing on an angel food cake, try using whipped cream instead, just put the food coloring in it the same as if you were using the icing, just make sure to keep the cake cold if using cream.

This looked so pretty - but I agree with others, angel food cake is not the best for this. Try a good white cake, or carrot cake & decorate for Halloween. You can do a lot with this idea.

I loved the effect the coconut gave it. I dyed mine light green with food coloring to make it look even more like a wreath. Made a great centerpiece and tasted good too : For my guests that liked coconut anyway!

my mom was so excited when she saw this cake initially. She said it was pretty and looked delicious. Well, all that went out the window when she cut into it. She then took her first bite and had a strange look on her face. Mom asked me, "Why on earth would you frost an angel food cake?" Mom does indeed know best!
