saute onion, garlic and diced celery. This is great and fast and more flavorful.. I also think using butter to saute in added flavor. Great basic, just needs your personal touch as alot of recipes do. My friend added some mushrooms she had on hand and loved it.

I enjoy cooking but don't always have the time to prepare soup - so this was a nice and beginning to a Greek meal of spanakopita and orzo salad. One thing I did to liven it up was to use an organic cream of potatoe soup rather than the cream of celery. I found it gave it more taste and a thicker consistency. I agree with other reviewers who added thyme, garlic and a bit more cayenne. Simple to prepare and tasty - without overwhelming the palette for the main entree.

I read all of the other reviews before making this soup. I then decided to add a red onion and clove of garlic I sauted in a small amount of olive oil with thyme and crushed red pepper. I added this w/the soup and broth to simmer. It was great! We ate it w/ a nice loaf of crusty garlic bread and enjoyed! Very easy and would be proud to serve to guests!

For those that know how to cook this soup is a great base. Just add what you think will make it better. Thanks Sandra!

Was not going to try this based on reviews but had the ingredients on hand and wanted a "comfort" soup.

I used a can of water instead of broth, 1 jar marinated artichokes, added some velveeta (which I never normally even have, and healthy pinch of tarragon.
Used a hand held mixer to combine ingredients. It turned out very creamy. Not outstanding, but it's from a can, what can you expect?

I love artichokes and this one was very quick and I served it very hot so it was delicious....and my tablescape looked like Sandra's.
