My family does not like fish, but my so picky husband was determined to find a way to add fish to his diet. We watched this show and he thought he could try this fish recipe. Well, it was delicious! My son thought it was the best "chicken strips" he had ever eaten! Thanks Sandra Lee for a great easy recipe. Now my family will eat some fish!

I made this for dinner last night and my family, who are not big on fish, loved it! The homemade tartar sauce is really what made the whole dinner, it was great. Also, my "chips" turned out to be more like mojos (probably cuz I cut them to thick but they were good anyways!

My family and I loved this recipe. The fish was fantastic! They loved the crunchy batter. My oldest son, who is extremely picky, loved it! I did add a little garlic powder, onion powder and seasoned salt to the chips before cooking. They were really good too. I will be making this again, most likely will try it with cod. Thank for the cheap, tasty dinner!

Awesome recipe! Easy to follow the fish came out great. The selzer water was definitely the star of the batter! What a wonderful idea.

I have read that some of you thought Sandra picked Tilapia poorly to make her fish with, but Cod ( being more expensive also isn't always a milder fish. I'm from Colorado Springs ,where Tilapia isn't something freshly available in a local grocery and in my opinion , having tried many different fish types in many different regions ( from the grocery, not only restaurants that Tilapia is equally as wonderful and mild as Cod or even Orange Roughy, depending where you live, as long as it's fresh ! If you aren't likely to catch fresh fish in your area you have a 50-50 shot at getting fish and sea food that is over a day old shipped, and/ or flash frozen later then when caught. Sandra's choice to use Tilapia is simply a good one for what she aims for in her show, to save money and build a tasty, yet economical meal. If you can't find a fresher, more mild Tilapia in your area , go for one you do like, no one penalizes you for changing up the type you choose, and the only one out the money will be you! As for the show, the point is to save money, not please everyone. If you don't have Tilapia tastebuds, change what you use and criticise only the relavant parts of the recipe or show! The bater was wonderful and crispy and the chips can be tweeked to anyones liking ! But overall a very simple, easy, and tasty family dinner to make again and again!

I'm not a novice to cooking fish. In fact my favorite way to cook brook trout is to slather with mayo and grill on the b-b-q. But...

This was the easiest "fish & chips" recipe I've ever found. My fish turned out so beautiful I took pictures and sent them to my friends and family.

Wonderfully crispy on the outside, perfect texture and color on the inside! For my family, this will be a favorite forever!

    Thanks!

The fish was very tasty. It did not taste fishy at all, and had a nice crunch to it. I did not have baking powder, so I used 3 tsp of baking soda. It still came out good. I did reduce the salt to make up for the salty baking soda. Even my 12 year old liked the fish, and she is very picky. I could have done without the chips. They came out ok, but I will fix another side dish next time. I love Sandra's new show.

I had to give this one 5 stars because it was the first fish I have ever been able to swallow! The smell and taste of fish make me sick but this was crispy, delicious, and didn't taste like the ocean. Thanks Sandra!
