Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups port wine
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup mixed dried fruit, chopped
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 4 ounces crumbled goat cheese
  • Sparkling Italian wine, for serving

Directions

In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, simmer port wine and sugar until sugar has dissolved. Add dried fruit and dried cranberries. Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

Serve in martini glasses topped with crumbled goat cheese and a glass of sparkling Italian wine.

    I found this dessert to be a little too heavy and sweet for my taste, but the saltiness and creaminess of the goat cheese... helped even out the sweetness a little.Read more
