This dish is worth making. Very good
You will have to go to your local Chinese Restaurant to purchase the Kung Pao Sauce. It was only $0.75 for 1/2 cup.

I get the Kung Pao sauce from the Chinese Market near me... if you don't have a Chinese market, look in the "Ethnic Aisle" at your grocery store...

Couldn't find Kung Pao sauce in my supermarket so I ordered take-out Kung Pao chicken. It was very Semi-Homemade.

I couldn't find pre-made Kung Pao sauce in any of the grocery stores or an oriental market. So I ended up using a spicy stir-fry sauce. It was the first time for edamame in our house and it got split reviews. It was fun to try something new though! And the recipe was certainly easy!

So what's the point? Edamame needs just a bit of salt and/or lemon. No need for heavy goopy sauce like this. It was gross.

The sauce obliterated the delicious taste of the edamame. Never again.

Where was the poor little edamame?

I kicked it up a notch by sauteeing red and yellow pepper with the onion in a sesame sauce vs. EVOO. It was deeelish!!!

I put all the ingredients in a casserole and smothered with cream, cheese, and bread crumbs. I took it to a block party - people kept asking what kind of dish it was - what country I was from, etc. Very fusion. So special, people savored it slowly - like caviar. Lots of leftovers to share with family and church potluck the next day.

I found this to be an easy dish to prepare for myself and friends. The flavors work nicely and the crunchiness of the beans gives this dish a unique twist.
