    Absolutely LOVE this recipe!!! I did change a few things the second time I made it, however: I did not use a slow cooker. I added 1 T of butter and cooked onions in a skillet until tender (about 20 mins. on medium heat. While the onions were cooking, I combined broth, consomme, water and soup mix in a large pan and cooked on high for 15-20 mins. Afterward, I added the onions to the broth and served. It turned out delicious!!! Thanks for the ideas Sandra Lee!!! This recipe is a keeper!!!!!!

    I have made this several times. My husband love it. I saute the onions the night before. I cant see putting them in raw. In the morning I just dump everything into the crock pot and come home to a delicious meal.

    I Really liked it, I did brown the onions first and added a little sherry to it, and my husband enjoyed it. that was the first slow cooker onion soup I ever made I will make it again

    I made this soup and it was very easy. I had looked at some of the reviews before I made it and seen that alot of reviews said u needed to carmalize the onions first. I did so with olive oil and let them cook for about 30 mins while i added the rest of the stuff to my crock pot but I also used both packs in the Liptons soup box. I thought it turned out great and I would make it again! Not to salty for me and had tons of flavor...Thanks Sandra

    So tasty and super easy. I followed the suggestions from others to saute the onions first. Crock pot on high for 4-hours was plenty of time to mesh the flavors.
