Family loved it. It is a bit different and the cognac gives it a bite, but it's a nice change from the boring green bean casserole my MIL insists on making every year. This recipe went over well with my family.

served at Thanksgiving and everyone loved it! I did leave out the cognac because we are not drinkers, but it was very good and was a nice change from the traditional green bean casserole.

I was really excited to be making this, it just looks like it tastes GREAT!

However I couldnt find the correct seasoning packet to use... so I used a knorr white sauce package...that was too lacking in flavor.

I fixed for Thanksgiving and had a ton of leftovers because no one liked it... not even me.

I may try this again just because the presentation looks so grand, but will use a different kind of sauce.

Now I should start buy saying I didn't try the recipe as it was directed because I read all the reviews and thought they were probably right. So, I made this my own and it was great. Because everyone said it was to salty, I only used half the packet of flavor. Those packets are LOADED with sodium, its crazy. I also used pearl onions instead of sliced red onions, because its more festive for thanksgiving : I didn't use peas, because my husband is picky..I just bought two packs of the fancy green and white frozem green beans. Also, we don't drink so I just use water instead on cognac. I know I totally did my own thing here.. but it had a beautiful presentation and got rave reviews! I hope this helps

The nice vegetablesa re totally obscured by a hideously salty sauce. You can taste nothing but salt and cognac. It was worse than awful.

I thought this was a very good dish! A creative take on an old stand-by. I will use again and again!
