The complete Recipe and directions are on Sandralee.com web site under German Chocolate Cake Trifle. Once you are on the site you can search for the recipe.

Someone's review said toast the coconut...way too dry. Not having the directions...I went by a review that said to cook milk, butter, sugar for 10 min. on med-high heat. I ended up with scrambled eggs about min 8. I ended up using condensed milk because I didn't have anymore canned milk...worked in a pinch!

I need the rest of the directions. I saw the show and know I need to cook the sauce I just can not remember how long. I am making this for my sons birthday.

I'm making it today for my father in law's b-day party tomorrow. Looks very tasty, can't wait to see how it turns out, can't wait!

I haven't tried this yet but I did see the show. The directions, as I remember them, are:
Bake chocolate cake as directed on pkg in a 13X9 pan. Mix sugar, milk, eggs, and butter and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. In a trifle dish (pretty & clear Layer cake, drizzle with sauce, sprinkle with nuts & coconut. Repeat twice.

Where are the directions? I've seen the same comment with no response from you. Do you simply use the "comment options" to guage the popularity of the show by number of responses or are you interested in the actual "CONTENT" of the review?

this may be something that is right up my alley! My favorite cake is German Chocolate. This looks like a delious twist that I'm trying this weekend. I am grateful for comments because I needed the step by step. The recipe as shown really is incomplete. Maybe Sandra can re-write this for us.

My husband and myself love the German Chocolate cake idea, however, with no directions, especially when baking, chances are the it won't come over as expected...BUMMER!

I saw the show and the cake looks awesome. I do not remember however, what size pan that she used to bake the cake in. Does anyone know?
