I have been using this recipe the last two Christmases. It works wonderfully and everyone loves it! They are simple and quick to bake. The texture is chewy and the ginger is not overwhelming. My kids (14,19,and 22! enjoy decorating them and giving them away to friends and family.

Outstanding and easy to make. I did wrap the dough in plastic wrap before refrigerating which helped keep the moisture level where it needed to be. I didn't have any problem with dry dough. I opted for the vanilla instead of the lemon for the frosting and it worked fine. I divided the frosting into several sub-batches to allow for a variety of frosting colors out of the same recipe. This also worked very well. I was able to get 30 2" bears out of this basic recipe.

What a simple way to get the gingerbread fix that I love. Wonderful aroma in the house.

I expected more. It was nothing special and wasn't very 'gingerbread-y'. The mixture was way too sweet, but that wasn't surprising because it came from a boxed cookie mixture. I will not be making these again.

I added a little extra flour to the mix after reading the other reviews, but I think it made the dough too dry. I chilled the dough for an hour like the recipe said, but it could have used an extra hour. The cookies are tasty, but not as flavorful as other gingerbread cookies I've had. This is a great recipe if you want good cookies quick.

These cookies actually taste just like homemade gingerbread. My only problem was that I think it needed more flour so that the dough would have been a little sturdier. Other than that, these are so simple and easy. I don't think you'll make traditional gingerbread again.

I made these for my granddaughter this Christmas. They were super easy and fun to decorate. Next year I will have her help me.
