It sounds like some of those reviewers have no creativity and don't understand the concept of Semi Homemade. There's nothing wrong with using bottled dressing for marinades. I make my own and I use bottled. You don't have to be so picky. This recipe looks delicious. The only thing is make sure the trout is deboned. The word cleaned may confuse some people(obviously.

I don't know what many of the reviewers were smoking when they botched this recipe, but it worked well for me. The Aioli was fantastic, I mixed in several sun-dried tomatoes for a sauce that is out of this world! The single best fish idea I have seen in a long time. Fresh, tasty and innovative. The plethora of negative reviews seem very mean-spirited to the point of making me question their validity. If you know your way around the kitchen, this recipe should be a breeze!

Fishing in Wisconsin has produced some of my most memorable and flavorful meals. Fresh fish prepared simply...mmmm...

Sandra's life story is no excuse to visit this abomination upon the American people who are desperately and now succeeding in developing a more sophisticated palate.

Sandra is a detriment to the culinary progress of America!!

Chris, my brother in TN, you got it right!!!!

The use of bland store bought ingredients destroys this recipe. Seriously how hard is it to use fresh herbs and to pay for oil and vinegar dressing what is wrong with you! You already have olive oil for the recipe. Sandra is destroying good food with crap ingredients and bad techniques. Just look at the other reviews people are swearing off trout because of her bad techniques and horrible ingredients!

Uh Uh, no way, never agagin will i eat trout again. It looked really tasty and delcious on tv when sandra made it, but that didn't happen when i made it. Ok, u might think that i messed up on the recipe but I didn't. This was so unapealing and gross. Everyone in my family got sick. It didn't even taste right. the combination of the ingrediants were a really bad idea. I'm sorry but that was like the worse thing i have ever eaten! I can never eat trout again!

I absolutely hate fish! And my husband said, "try this". I LOVE THIS RECIPE! I have my husband make this all the time. This is the most wonderful fish you will taste. So if you hate fish like me.....you have to give this a try and taste all the wonderful flavors that are in this recipe. This is now our "at home" date night dinner for us. Wonderful Sandra!!!

The taste of the fish was terrible. The herbs were bitter. The orange juice just made it worse.

I found this to be way too much work given the results. If I were to try this again, I'd just make the fish, garnish with lettuce, tom and onion (nuke the orange juice altogether, and slap on a nice chipotle aioli which is much easier. Just take a cup of good mayo (not store brand and combine with ONE small chopped chipotle en adobo pepper. Delish!

We grilled the trout with the skin on but removed it to serve, obviously. We also did not serve it on a sandwich but just as it was however we all agreed it would have been yummy on a roll. We all found the trout to be very flavorful and moist. Even our kids loved it! We are certainly not gourmet chefs so we like things that are quick, easy and appealing to our simple tastes. This fit the bill

It was so unappetizing it made me shudder. Literally. With all the skin and bones and such. Needless to say, no one ate it.
