I prepared the grilled trout and the veggies with saffron rice. I have 3 boys and 1 girl. My daughter, who is a very picky eater, loved it, along with the boys. There wasn't one teeny piece of veggie left...the boys complained that there wasn't enough rice. Will be doubling it the next time. Do NOT add any salt to rice...was a bit too salty (we never add too much salt on anything for everyone but they ate every bit anyway.

I really liked the idea of the rice with capers and almonds- I followed the recipe exactly (low sodium broth and rinsed the capers- and we really liked the outcome- except it was just too salty! Maybe next time I'll do half broth/half water- or make 2xs the batch with half rice and half saffron-rice-mix

I thought this recipe was very good and tasty. My boyfriend and mom both loved it. I especially liked the edition of capers and slivered almonds. Was very different than just your basic pack of saffron rice by itself.

Subtle tastes. I could find nothing wrong with this recipe. Easy and attractive to serve. Thanks, Sandra.

Sorry but our major complaint was also that this recipe has zero flavor. I don't want to have to doctor up recipes to make them taste good.

To be so simple. Having been on a low carb diet for a long time i had to try this recipe as I love the saffron rice.
Every one at dinner loved it, even the grand kids. I do not understand the reviews that say things are bland..I taste and sseason accordingly. A recipe is a pattern, not etched in stone, and my grill pan that I use on the stove dosen't have holes in it.

Way too bland. And the little veggies fell through the grill.

I had to make three changes. First, I couldn't find saffron rice in the store so I used regular rice and put in a pinch of saffron spice. I grilled the veggies whole instead of in pieces for ease, and I'm not a fan of almonds, so I only used a few sprinkled over the top. A tasty side dish for sure!
