This is a great recipe. Saves time, was tasty, and NOBODY was the wiser when I served it at a family gathering.

Good word, natty in the ki. Chef #1155527: read what natty in the ki had to say. Her comments are helpful and to the point. You don't need to tear others down in order to boost your own ego. This recipe is good whether you use pre-made mashed potatoes or make your own.

You know, sometimes you are in need of shortcuts and $ isn't the point...and sometimes you need to pinch pennies. So Sandra helps with both. SO WHAT? I ALWAYS boil and mash my own potatoes but some people don't have time or energy to do it. (I know my mom didn't have the strength to peel, lift the pot, or mash but would have loved a way to make pre-made mashed potatoes taste better. Her shows are not in conflict with each other, they serve different purposes.

The horseradish gives great flavor BUT how hard is it to cook and mash your own potatoes?! I'm really angry that Sandra extolls the virtues of pre-packaged food on this show and then turns right around on her money-saving show and tells us how bad they are!! You can't have it both ways!! And if Sandra hasn't got the brains to see this double standard, why can't the Food Network execs see it? It's bad enough to have this dichotomy, but to come from the very same cook makes it seem 10 times worse!! C'mon, folks -we're not stupid so stop acting like we are!!

Made this to side with a stuffed beef tenderloin and it was great! The store only had the Bob Evan's prepared mashed potatoes, so that is what I used. After reading the other review, I used slightly less than the 1Tbs horseradish just to be on the safe side. It turned out wonderfully. Would definitely make it again, what a time saver!

Made this for an Easter family gathering, and everyone loved it! I especially liked it because it cut out all the peeling, mashing, etc. AND the sour cream and horseradish really raised the old standby to a new level. ( I doubled the recipe, but only used half the horseradish.
