I tweek the recipe by skipping the oven and adding a 12oz can of Dr. Pepper to the slow cooker. It seems to tenderize and caramelize.

I was apprehensive about this recipe since my family is use to the traditional way I fix ribs by boiling then adding to the grill. I live in Michigan and the weather is really cold so I couldn't use the grill. I made this recipe before I went to work it took me about 25 min. from start to finish. When I got home to my we sat down to dinner and my husband and 2 yr. old loved them. My husbands comment when I asked if he liked them or was just eating because he was hungry was he loved them and was trying not to eat them all so we could have more. I thought they were great very tender and fell off the bone. Very simple to make.

this recipe is great! by broiling the ribs first they keep the crispy texture you want on the outside and fall of goodness when you bite in. on the show she uses some crushed red pepper flakes but the recipe doesn't call for it. you could add it either way or totally just use your favorite bbq sauce (1 cup rather than buy the ingredients for sandra's sauce. This is something I will keep in my slow cooker routine.

These are, by far, the best ribs I have ever made and they are so easy to prepare! My husband does not usually like anything cooked in the slow cooker because he feels flavor gets cooked out, this is not only his favorite rib recipe but about the only thing he likes cooked in the slow cooker! The recipe summary lists these as appetizers, I cook these for dinner and feed a family of four as the main course. The flavor is exceptional and I have passed this recipe on to several family and friends!

I have made them numerous times since my whole family loves these ribs. I usually put them on the grill for a few minutes after I take them out of the crock pot just to give them that perfect finish.

I am not a cook so this was an experiment for me. They were very tasty and took no time at all once I had all the ingredients.

Love this recipe, the only thing I did differently instead of broiling the ribs, I threw them over the charcoal BBQ for 10 minutes before slow cooking for 6-8 hours. I also added a little more ginger to the sauce. Fantastic Recipe!!

I enjoy watching Sandra Lee and getting great ideas for dinner. This recipe was a huge hit. My husband was the one who caught this episode and decided to make them for dinner. I am NOT a fan of pork at all and when I smelled the ribs after they had been cooking ALL DAY; you can bet that I was wanting a taste. So I tried them and "Oh my gosh!!" (I am a fan now. "YUM!" Our 2 yr old even likes them. I don't adjust the recipe at all. I enjoy it just the way it is. My motto "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." We make them when we have company and everyone always comments on how awesome they taste. Of course Sandra Lee gets the credit everytime but I don't mind. We did try this recipe with 4 hrs cooking time and then 8-10 hrs cooking time. I highly recommend the 8-10 hrs cooking. Its way better when the meat is falling off the bone.
