This recipe was absolutely terrible. I tried it 3 times using different amounts of ingredients. First of all if you cook the brocolli 4-5 minutes you will have complete mush. I'm not a vegetarian, but a vegetable lover and will never try this one again.

This steamed broccoli sounded real good but was very overcooked.

This is how I made it. I cooked a box of frozen broccoli in boiling water. I drained it well. I put it in a bowl and squeezed 1/2 of a lemon on top of it. The I added a pinch of salt. Everyone raved about it!

The broccoli was harsh and bitter.

If you leave the lemon zest out and sprinkle it on after cooking the broccoli, it improves this recipe 1 billion percent. Hot lemon zest is bitter and horrible!

This recipe was great! I made a few substitutions so that I could use what I already had at home (I'm such a semi-homemade gal! and I made it with cauliflower and shredded carrots, topped with orange juice and ricotta cheese! It was so yummy and my kids loved it.

The broccoli was mushy and overcooked and was way too lemony. Bitter too.
