    I tried the lemon cake and my whole family loved it. It had a nice tart, not too sweet taste. I will confess that I cheated somewhat and made a lemon pudding pound cake instead of using a store-bought. I think the next time I will also half the icing amount. . .it was a little too much for me.

    the frosting was runny and overflowed my cake plate. It was sickeningly sweet. To the point no one could stand to eat it.

    Very hard to put together this cake and in the end it doesn't taste all that good. I won't bother again.

    So color me surprised when I detested the taste of this cake! It's more like chemicals than lemon. Not a keeper.

    This is a wonderful cake for a quick desert or even used for a special occasion. I used red currents and strawberries in mine with strawberry jello. I made the cake for my daughters wedding shower and it was a hit. Dissapeared like magic.
