I made this fish and it was delicious, but instead of making it with canned fruit, I made a very simple mango salsa: chopped mango, chopped onions, chopped cilantro, chopped jalapeno, salt and pepper to taste. As I chopped fresh mango, I used some pineaple juice I had in the fridge (any jiuce wold do it: oj, apple. The mix of the sweet fruit and juice with the spicy jalapeno is yummy over the fish. You should try it.

This was more like a dessert gone terribly wrong.

IF YOU MARINATE FOR MORE THAN ABOUT 45 MINUTES THE FISH WILL BEGIN TO DISINTEGRATE. But if you marinate it for a shorter amount of time, it doesn't have a lot of taste. You make the call -- you can have good taste or good texture, but not both. THINK TWICE BEFORE USING THE NUTMEG. The first time I made this I used it and IMO it ruined the dish. THINK TWICE ABOUT USING CANNED FRUIT. It was stale and mushy and no one ate it. The second time I served it without the salsa and it was fine that way. DON'T BE PUT OFF BY HOW THIS FISH LOOKS. It tastes better than it looks.

I just made this recipie last night and it was so good, light and refreshing. I did not have swordfish but rather Sole and I broiled it, and the only ingredient I did not have for the salsa was the cilantro. That being said to my husband and I this was a tasty dish (we both had a second helping It was so simple yet looked so elegant. I will keep this one on file and make it again and again! : Thanks Sandra--oh and I got this recipie from her semi homeade cookbook and it calls for 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg, did not overpower at all--jalapeno adds a nice kick to the sweet (but not to sweet fruit! Thanks Sandar, keep up the GREAT work! :

The texture of the canned fruit was unpleasant but it was the nutmeg that actually ruined the dish.

we just loved the recipe. She uses canned fruit because it's called semi-homemade, and the canned worked great for us!

This was way too strong in this dish. Tasted like fish compote.

Too many sweet flavors going on. The Swordfish was lost in a sea of fruit.
