My husband and I both enjoyed the flavors of these beans. Easy and good.

There was an unnecessary amount of pure fat added to this recipe for some reason. It was greasy and disgusting!

Based on others' reviews, i decided to alter the recipe. I used a 53oz. can, and used 21/4 tbls. of the mustard, and about 1/4 cup of the marinade, give or take-which is what was called for using a 28 oz can. I omitted the bacon bits, and decided to tear up only 2-3 pieces of bacon and scattered the pieces on top, which made for little grease. They came out really yummy and everyone enjoyed them. They didn't seem over powered by the mustard or marinade, so maybe i used too little....anyway, there were pretty good!!- TIP: turkey bacon is a good idea for those who like less grease.

her idea for letting the bacon "juice" aka greasy drip down in the beans made these too greasy.

I am not a big eater of baked beans, but I went ahead and tried this and it is yummy.

We would have liked it better with more bacon.

    Chef Lee:
These beans were great! I love when you start out a baked bean recipe with baked beans -- it makes life so much easier. I used actual bacon in the recipe and then garnished with bacon bits -- the opposite of what I downloaded from the web site. But they are smokey and d'lish!

Very greasy with a horrible artificial smoke taste.
