Does the filling taste more like coffee or more like chocolate? I am making a chocolate cake this weekend but want a mocha filling. :

This is the best chocolate and coffe conbined dessert I ever made. I made it for my husbands Birthday, He is an avid everyday $6.00 a cup mocha coffee drinker. He loved it . I had to make another ine 2 days later. i have a feeling I will be making this one many more times, and not just for his birthaday.Thank you Sandra Lee you did it again.

My son had a hankering for mocha for his birthday cake and this recipe hit the spot! "Fixed" the frosting by using 8oz of Whipped Cream frosting instead of Cool Whip. Tastes wonderful. Thanks for the recipe Sandra and Food Network!!

Like some of the other reviewers, I too had trouble with the frosting setting up. I followed the instructions carefully, and even put it in the fridge overnight before using on the cake. It was too thin to use as the filling to keep the 2 cakes stacked on top of each other. Tasty, but didn't work very well.

Recipe is wonderful for all of the chocolate lovers in the world. Using a 13x9 is much easier and less work.

This is a great tasting cake! Perfect amount of coffee flavor! I agree with everyone that the frosting is a little tricky. a few suggestions- Make sure the coffee is cold before you add it to the cool whip. Also be gentle with the cool whip-don't stir it just fold it. Even still, the layers liked to slide a lot. My biggest suggestion-make it even easier! instead of making two round cakes just make one 9X13 cake and put the icing on top. Skip the crown and sprinkle chocolate and white chocolate chips on top. The appearance isn't outstanding but really its all about the taste! Don't be scared off by some of these reviews. Just try it. you won't regret it!

the mocha cream/frosting never set and I had to hold it together in the fridge with skewers to keep it from sliding apart. If the frosting needs to sit overnight, it ought to be stated in the directions. It was very good, but looked like a train hit it. I was disappointed as I had made it for my sister's birthday.

but the crown was really difficult. I finally ditched the decor and just served the cake.
