My 4 and 5 year old boys really enjoyed making the scones. They were so proud of how delicious their creation was!

This was so easy to make and it turned out really good. I used instant coffee (2T instead of brewed coffee. Someone got to the chocolate chips before i could get to them so i used crushed M&M peanuts instead. It turned out delicious with the crunch from the peanut and the warm chocolate. The M&M's also gave it great color and my 5-year old loved it!

After reading the reviews posted for this recipe, I decided to make them just to see who was right (half the reviews said the recipe was excellent and the other half said the scones were too dry. First, I'd like to say that the shapes of the scones should not be an issue. Shape them the way you want-who cares. Second, my family and I found these scones to be moist and full of flavor (I have three boys 11, 9 & 7 and they couldn't get enough. I added one tsp cinnamon and grated fresh nutmeg to the dry ingredients which added more flavor. Heat them up in the microwave for 25 seconds on 50% power and they are perfect. My guess is that those who said they were too dry over kneaded the dough. Try again. These are worth it.

These scones were very nice but I also reduced the amount of chips.
Dottie of Miami, you said next time you would make them the "proper way" in a loaf pan. Scones are not made in a loaf pan - they are cut either in rounds or triangles on a baking sheet. Loaf pans are for quick bread or meat loaf, not scones.

I read the reviews and accidently added
2 eggs to the batter and my Scones came out perfectly moist and so good.I had to cook them alittle longer but thats
all I did.I don't care how they are shaped. They still taste like scones to me.

The scones were wonderful. Using the basic (easy recipe,I made a variation using, crasins, orange juice and orange extract. They were just great and could not be easier. The first batch I made were put back in the cake pan and frozen after they were cut into portions. They traveled with me to a beach vacation and were baked for breakfast the next day!
Everyone who has had them wants the recipe.

This is the first time I have ever desired to make a scone. They looked so good on her show. And I tell you what they are awesome. My husband and friends love them too. I will definately make these over and over.

The mocha chip scones were quick and easy to make. And they're so delicious to boot. I modified the recipe on my second batch a bit by using a low fat/high fiber baking mix and added cranberries instead of white chocolate chips. The cranberries give it a extra sweet boost. And no worries, the modifications don't take away from the flavor. Thanks Sandra for this easy, semi-homeade recipe.

I am not an experienced baker, I found this recipe very easy and quick. Like the scones!! They are not dry at all! I used the first baking mix I could find in a store - Pioneer. Thanks, Sandra!
