I don't think the coffe flavor goes well with the coconut. Maybe just coconut, or a true mocha with coffee and chocolate. And that's not orange zest on the top, it's toasted coconut. I do liket the idea of the pie dough for cups. I will use that with another filling.

These were FANTASTIC! I made these for dessert for a group of friends over the weekend. They couldn't stop talking about how good they were! I used a mocha instant espresso and followed the directions as written. I also garnished the dessert plate with a chocolate syrup to make it look pretty! Can't wait to make it again!

OMG these are sooooo good !!!!! i made this for my aunts anniversary party & everybody loved them!!!! instead of just placing the dough to cupcake pan , i rolled out the little circles & placed them on the cupcake pans so that they would look like mini bowls after baking . i didnt have any instant expresso , so i used instant cappachinno instead . they were light & not to sweet . everybody was asking me for the recipe . these are the best !!! U ROCK SANDRA LEE!

Made these for a group of friends Thursday night for our blog, Semi-Edible (http://semi-edible.blogspot.com/
    These
were not so good. My sister, friend and myself said they were okay but the other three individuals hated them and wouldn't finish theirs. The best part was the whipped topping, toasted coconut and pie crust. The coconut extract was too much. Also as a reviewer said below, no chocolate = no mocha!

I made these according to the recipe, and they were okay. My biggest problem was with the name: no chocolate means no mocha. My hubby told me I had to ass some chocolate or come up with a better name or he wasn't going to let me serve them. If I had any chocolate syrup, I could have added a layer of that under the whipped cream-stuff, but I didn't. So I called this desert: coffee-coconut-contraceptives. Not quite as cute as the original name, but the shape is much more like my name than a cup.

Loved this! My kids thought it was too coffee-ie. I loved it though, would love to find a way to make it less calorie packed. But it was great! Next time I will substitute the coffee part with powdered chocolate and see if they like it better.

First of all the recipe never thickens up no matter how long you mix it, and second the taste of the espresso is too much and ruined the entire thing!

These were so easy and very good. You could actually just about add any kind of filling you want. I added some chopped pecans to the filling too. For whoever was wondering about the orange zest in the photo, that's actually toasted coconut.

Although I would not make the filling again, the idea for the desert cups is great. I always have frozen pie dough on hand and I will be making these individual cups alot. I don't know why everyone has to pick on Sandra Lee so much ... I may not like all her recipes (the same goes for my favorite, Paula Deen but I usually get some tidbit of info or ideas that i can use in the future
