This recipe is either loved or not. I have made these for Christmas and Easter and my cousins loved them. Most of the adults liked them as well, but those that were not fond of the roasted taste from the coffee were a bit skeptical. I don't have mudslide off hand so I substituted in 1/4 cup milk and chocolate syrup mix. I personally love them.

These taste sublime, but are by far the moistest, gooiest brownies I have ever made, to the point that they seem grossly undercooked (I suspect spreading the cream cheese over the top per the recipe prevented it from setting up. The inside was like frosting. Also, I could not get the cream cheese to marble. I had to chuck two batches. Will not make again.

The time it stated to bake things were too long, mine were burnt on the sides. Overall they were fair, will not be making again.

I made this for a potluck and the brownies were great. I had expresso, and not being a coffee drinker didn't realize how strong it was. I ended up adding more sugar to test. I wrapped these up tight and served them the next day when they were good and gooey. I got compliments and not a lot left. I had to steal a few for myself!

I do a lot of baking and these are by far the most MOIST brownies I've ever made! They have more coffee flavor than I was thinking they would but it goes perfectly with the cream cheese and chocolate flavors. In a word: delicious!

I am not a fan of Sandra Lee, but I HAVE to give her kudos for this wonderful dessert. It is delicious and the perfect chocolate lover fix! My brownies turned out super moist.
Re: recipe
I used chocolate milk instead of mudslide because that's what I had, but I've had mudslide, and I know that this would also be good in these brownies. (I had everything else already, including the instant coffee! After reading some reviews, I made sure my cream cheese was at room temperature, and I had absolutely no trouble marbling at all. I did kick it up a notch and used a Chocolate Chunk brownie mix, but this was because they were out of plain old brownie mix. The chunks and the chocolate chips were sssooo good. I will absolutely make this again!

Try these brownies and USE THE COFFEE!!! They are really amazing, i'm shocked more people havent tried these and revieved them. My husband HATES coffee soi didnt tell him it was in the brownies, and he absolutly loved them! He ate almost the whole 9x13 tray by himself. I also made a white chocolate fudge icing to go on top and it was even better!!! Recipe follows:
4oz Lindt white chocolate, 2oz butter, 3 tablespoons milk all melted together using double boiler, once melted sift in 1 3/4 cups of powered sugar. Mix together with a mixer until smooth. ITs AMAZING!!!!! i usually take a recipe and make it my own by making small chanes, but I have to admit, this recipe is perfect the way it is written:

This was tasty, not the best brownie ever, but simple and tasty. I dont do coffee, so omitted that. But to replace that TBLSP of water in the topping, I added 1 TBLSP of the mudslide mix. I think I would use regular size chocolate chips next time as well. I didnt even notice the mini size in the finished product. It would add a nice texture.

Did any of the people who left reviews about having trouble marbling the batter remember to make sure the cream cheese was at room temp? I had no problem with the marbling. Letting the cream cheese come to room temp, should solve this problem. If not, you need to lift some weights cuz your weak. ;-. JK!
