If one of the contestants on "The Next Food Network Star" tried to come out with this recipe, the judging panel would kick them out of the contest so fast their head would spin! I honestly am embarrassed for Food Network and Sandra Lee that they aired this.

Really? Is it that hard for half of you guys reviewing to realize that you could make your own cakes, or use the store bought too. But the review is about telling your story and what you thought of the recipe, you can't complain that the cakes tasted cheap and looked terrible, you didn't make it and it wasnt the recipe's cake recipe now was it?!

The cake had way too much going on.
Lets either have a round cake a square cake or a cupcake.

I could have made a homemade cake in less time than it took to run down these cakes. Very disappointed in the finished product. Daffodils could have been piped for the decoration instead of trying to find cookies.
I guess if you're used to eating from the bakery or the box you probably wouldn't know the difference.

Can't believe Mario Batali would allow something like this in one of his restaurants. What a mess!

This tastes so good, and we used it as a centerpiece for our buffet table. We got so many comments on how pretty it was.

People who make this should be aware that a half sheet cake serves over 30 people. As made, this recipe will easily serve 50 people - not eight. And good luck buying daffodil cookies...
