I made mine in a 9x9 pan, I had no applesauce so I substituted 1/4 cup orange juice, I also added 1/4 cup brown sugar, a dash of salt and cinnamon, a tsp vanilla extract and increased the choc chips to 3/4 cup. They were chewy awesome.

A delicious treat. However, I think I will omit the honey and use nutella or a special chocolate syrup next time. The honey tasted like it overpowered the whole idea of a peanut buttery oatmeal experience. Tasty! But I'm going to experiment with these. I will use organic crunchy peanut butter next time. And gotta say, the raisins, and rich chocolate are awesome in these.

Mine turned out nice and chewy. I used 1/2 c. Bisquick, used old fashioned oats, and omitted the chocolate chips. Next time I will add a little salt and some brown sugar.

Made this recipe yesterday (actually got it from Sandra Lee's kids cookbook. Came out moist and smelled delicious. I used an 11x7 pan, if that makes a difference.

I would like to try it with the reduced fat Bisquick and reduced fat peanut butter at some point. I also think it would be good with cranberries and rasins or chocolate and butterscotch chips as a variation.

I also added more of the applesauce. Also, after bars are cooled and cut, place a dollup of whipped cream on top of each. Definately, brouht out the flavors.

I followed this recipe exactly, with the exception of the raisins and chocolate chips because I did not have any on hand. I found them to be very dry and difficult to eat. I really like the concept, so I will probably try them again with some modifications. I will try adding some brown sugar, and maybe pressing the dough into muffin tins. I had to use a lasagna pan that was too large, so my bars were probably too thin.

This came out tasty with my tweeking a bit. I used 1/2 cup of regular flour instead of bisquick, didnt have any on hand. I used 1/4 cup of honey instead of 1/3, I used banana, cranberries, chocolate chips, and walnuts instead of raisens, and everything else the same. Wait and I added a dash of salt and a dash of vanilla extract and omitted the applesauce (didn't have any on hand. Next time I will add about a 1/3 or 1/2 cup of brown sugar just to add a bit more sweetness. But otherwise this was fantastic!

After making a couple of adjustment I have gotten these down pat. I use 1/4 cup flour plus 1 teaspoon baking powder instead of bisquick and yes still equal in carbs. The nominal amount distributed in the bars makes them a very healthy and great tasting snack. Also for the right amount of wet ingredients use 2 single serve natural applesauce. I just added cinnamon powder 1 tsp. . I then do everything else the same with the exception of using regular oats instead of quick oats. The result great bars that do not fall apart. They taste amazing and kids love them. Packaged granola bars are all sugar and do contain more flour.

I think this recipe needs one to two tbsp of salt, I also think it would be better without the raisins and more chocolate chips. It is a very filling tasty treat.
