I just made this recipe after reading the reviews and everyone loved it. I used only 3 cups of flour and replaced the parsley with lemon and pepper seasoning. It was really good. I also suggest making a few first and adjusting the salt level. Mine needed much more than suggested in the recipe.

Just finished making this recipe and I learned a few things. Number one, I made the batter much thinner than she did on the show. It worked fine. Number two, work the batter in SMALL batches. I was cooking the batter in the sieve as I tried to push it through the holes. And last, these dumplings are bland. I jazzed i up with bacon, onion, and garlic. Delicious!

Was very disappointed in the dumplings. Only a bit of the batter went through the holes and then gunked up. Yes, I let it sit for 15 min. I did make the shnitzel which came out good.

Love the show. Sandra is a greet host. I cook at a lake house and who wants to spend time cooking when you can be in the sun on a dock watching a sail boat race. So Sandra's recipe's are great.

Not bad but, My grandma made the dumplings with alittle bacon crisped up and mixed in and it really helps. I love Sandra and most of her recipes. They have saved us money and brought a new twist to the kitchen.

Ladies for heavens sake Sandra did not make Spaetzle, she made dumplings (look at the title in the shape of Spaetzle. "Harsh "is not strong enough for some of you and "ignorance" is certainly uncalled for in your description of Sandra. Shame on you. If you don't care for her recipes don't watch.

I read the other review and found it a little harsh. I followed the recipe (made half of it...but I did add my own touches...and isn't that all part of cooking anyway? First I cooked a few slices of bacon, then added cut up fresh asparagus and garlic, then I dropped in the cooked dumplings. I browned it all up and then added some salt and pepper. I crumbled the bacon on it when it went to the table. I served it with oven-cooked boneless chicken thighs. It was a hit Sandra! LOL...I forgot the cocktail thought! Next time! :-

Have had spaetzle, but never made it at home so I was curious. Very disappointing. It lacks the rich, yummy flavor that spaetzle should have. Perhaps using stock/bouillon in the boiling water would help, or switching out the water for cream or milk would help. Perhaps some cheese or a variety of herbs would help. I cannot recommend this recipe.
