but don't knock the people who don't have time. The premise of the show is semi-homemade. Maybe you should take the time to know someone before you put them down. I'm sure Sandra could cook you under the table if she cared to waste her time on you.

I haven't even tried the cookie yet, I just know it will be good. As a mommy chasing a two year old around and having her hold on to my leg as I'm cooking I hardly have time to make a cookie from scratch. If you don't like what the Semi Homemade lady has to offer why are you looking at her recipes. DUH Semi Homeade is the name of one of her shows!!!! ONE being the key word how many shows do you have?????

I am a very busy person with a full-time job and tons of other commitments. I look forward to baking cookies every year, and so many years I can't manage to find the time. This is a perfect recipe for me, and I can't wait to try it out! I don't understand why some of the reviews are so holier-than-thou, I-forge-my-own-cookie-sheets-out-of-molten-metal-before-baking-cookies...I mean, don't these people understand that some of us decide to devote our time to other things and don't have all of the time in the world to bake?!?! I think baking Christmas cookies should be an equal opportunity activity--for busy peope who love to bake, and for people who love to bake and do a thousand other different things. Easy on the criticism, enough bragging already--we get it. You bake. Why not just sit tight and wait for the next Christmas cookie recipe, or Google some complicated recipe that you can spend 6 hours on. But quit judging!!!

I read some of the silly unkind comments. Hello!!, her show is called semi homemade for a reason; These cookies are easy, quick on time and taste like you put thought into them AND you didn't spend all day locked in the kitchen!!!
    Long live Semi Homemade Recipes!!!!!

To those who have posted poor reviews - please stop reviewing something without trying it. If you only bake from scratch, go elsewhere. I'm sure Sandra could bake from scratch if that were the premise of her show. It's not and you all know it.

Now, to the actual review. My 3-year old had a blast with these. She usually gets frustrated when baking from scratch because she wants to do everything herself, so I was so excited to see this recipe and let her have at it. Also nice that we happened to have all the ingredients on hand. I think her preschool pals will love these!

No, I haven't made this cookie, however, I make a lot of scratch cookies and am not above a jiffy cookie. I always add something to the mix to make them a cut above and get rave reviews. BUT, I have never made a refrigerated dough cookie that didn't spread by inches, especially room temperature dough. Hard to believe that a little powdered sugar or flour would create the cute puffy cookie pictured. I hesitate to put even a short time into that kind of cookie. It makes sense that adding a 1/2 teaspoon of liquid food coloring to 1/2 the dough will increase the spread. This is a cute idea and I hope i am wrong. The Betty Crocker dry pouch mix with a little extra flour may work better and taste better too. I may try that. Let you know.

Sandra, You keep right on doing what you're doing so well. I don't see the rest of the naysayers with their own show do you? Some of us aren't lucky enough to have the luxury of making recipes from scratch and welcome all the shortcuts you get. Bottomline, it's the thought of making the food and not how it got made, and personally I appreciate any HOME-made food more from someone who works, takes care of family and still is thoughtful enough to find ANY way they can to give from their hearts. The negative people and their comments would be better served doing something good in the world than attempting to tear down a woman who made something of herself and her life with their petty whining! KEEP THE SEMI-HOMEMADE RECIPES COMING SANDRA!

This recipe is great for busy people - start with store bought and add a few extra ingredients. You don't need to use Sandra's recipes .... lots of other chef's on the Foodnet Work site to select from.

    Happy Holiday Sandra !!!
